Wow, what an absolute gorgous day in the Everglades today. We deserve it after 3 days of straight rains keeping us all indoors. Today on the Swamp Buggy ride we saw a few white-tailed deer, racoons, and a great horned owl. The plant life is just beautiful with the Red Maples changing color, the Cypress are losing their leaves for the dry season, and the holly trees are covered in berries. Later in the day, we had about a 9 foot alligator swim up right alongside the airboat too . The woodstorks are back! This endangered specie of bird is just a sight to see and they have pink feet! Check out this photo of a deer hanging out with a racoon, look close are they are behind some vegetation, they seemed quite comfortable with each other. We love our woodland creatures.
